It rains quite a bit on Lost too, but if it's anything like Hawaii (where it's filmed) it doesn't get cold, which can be a good thing about the rain or a bad thing, depending on your opinion. When we lived in Hawaii and came back here the first time for Christmas, I remember enjoying how cold and crisp the air was during and after the rain.

I agree with all of you, especially "I love the day after it rains, when the sun shines so bright that it feels like everything is new again!".

Living in the 'rain' might not be as hard if you are a homebody like me but the outdoors man at heart of mine would have to suffer. But then there is piece of mind, seems to me nowhere is perfect. Except the island of Lost where is has perfect weather but I guess those polar bears and others suck. ;-)

oh, and you might recognize mr. hammond's name with a "jr." at the end, because his son, albert hammond jr., is the fro haired guitarist for the strokes.

every once in a while you'll catch the original on classic rock radio stations. the softer classic stations, you know, where you'll hear tunes like macarthur park (someone left the cake out in the rain).

albert hammond wrote the song, tony toni tone only "borrowed" the hook, omitting the all important next line: "but girl don't they warn ya, it pours, man it pours."

Maybe we need to rethink this; rain vs. storms. SoCal occasionally has storms. As a wise musician once sang, “It never rains in Southern California” (tony, toni, tone). Walking from car to front door and getting soaked seems to be a fast and furious storm. HUGE drops to me are the “sheetsâ€? of “rainâ€? that come down without notice in Louisiana, Florida, etc. Seattle to my understanding has what is closure to “rain” not the occasional storm. Consistent, without warning, and over all part of the locale, make sense?? Which I must say I have never experienced first hand but would be interested in because of my love of the occasional Cali storm.

I'm with you Brooke 100 percent. Driving in it sucks but cooking, sleeping, reading are all quite nice with the sound of rain as a soundtrack.Walking in it is lovely too. I have to admit that last year, I began to dread the rain because it had become violent and caused death and I was afraid I might never enjoy it again. Fortunately I do.
