So my job requires power tools. I help manage an apartment complex and on many occasions I need a hammer, hack saw or drill. To be more specific a DeWALT 9v, 15 torque drill, arr Arr ARRR I can’t tell you how liberating it is to have a “man’s” job. It wasn’t me that thought this job was made for a man. It seems to be the WWII generation (that would be the boomers parents, right?) It’s liberating for two reasons; one the look on the old timers face when you’ve fixed something using your DeWALT 9v, 15 torque drill, AND two (this is HUGE) pulling your DeWALT 9v, 15 torque drill out of a BEAUTIFUL PINK leather tool belt your husband bought you for Valentine’s Day. Life is good!
the wwii generation was the first to really bring women into “man jobs.” while all the boys were out playing with guns, the ladies took over in the factories.
9v? that’s a girly drill. time to upgrade! when i was doing the home improvement channel for homestore, the powertool companies started this big campaign to make tools that appeal to women: soft, contoured handles, bright colors, and smaller sizes. the problem was: girls didn’t want the girly tools, they wanted the big, tough man-tools!
That is true about women in factories, but only because the male work force was out ot war and the ladies where a last resort. When the guys got back the women where thrown right back where they belonged (according to the men) in the kitchen bare foot and pregnant, hence the boomers were born.
hey, they got sufferage out of the deal! what more did they want?!
suffrage that is
THE RIGHT TO POWERTOOLS !!
I likie the tool belt! Thats hot.
I love that you kick so much ass and are not ashamed!
I didn’t see your toolbelt on flickr. Is it there?
